Running 8.3.1 beta v3 on usb stick.
I have a 3TB Hitachi drive, encrypted with a passphrase, running ZFS, no raid, simple data partition.
if my usb stick goes bad, but my data drive is still good, and i lose my root partition, can i just pop in a fresh IMG on a new usb, re-enter my passphrase through the 'unlock key' on the web GUI, and my data drive is intact?
This is assuming I took no other precautions other than remembering my password. This is a major problem because USB drives are notoriously unreliable. So if this is adding another point of failure for data loss, its a big deal.
