Good Evening!

I am doing a new build using a Dell Poweredge R630 paired with an MD1200 using a PERC 810 card. Just setup the connections and have TrueNAS 13 U5.1 installed. Attempting an sas3flash -list doesn't show any HBA devices. Has anyone done a similar setup? What am I missing?

Looks like it could be related to flashing the PERC card to a different firmware? Does this need to be done in the system I will be using it in or can I pop it into another system to do the flashing?

Firmware can be flashed on any system.

Well I attempted to follow the instructions and managed to brick the card in the process. Can't see it when I get to the step where I assign the SAS address. Can't revert the firmware either.

Sorry to hear that. I've never played with the PERC 810 cards myself, only the LSI 9211-8i. I was able to flash that with the IT firmware by following the instructions here, only to have it die after an hour in use. That card got sent back to Amazon for a refund.

In the end, I ended up buying an LSI 9207-8i second hand which was already flashed with IT firmware.

Although I would like to fix it I also purchased one that said it was already flashed to the right firmware. Now to just wait for it to come in and be able to use it.
