I have a brand new HP N40L micoserver with six 1 tb drives installed. I plan to configure all in one Z2 pool (~3.6 tb usable space). There is a hacked replacement BIOS that lets the system see all six drives as SATA. The normal HP BIOS recognizes 4 as SATA and 2 as IDE. Anyway, I'm a Windows wuss, so I have no idea at what point in the boot process I'm supposed to press.... Well, I don't even know what to press or when to press it to get the existing system to upgrade the BIOS.

Can anyone please guide me?

Since upgrading your BIOS to a hacked version is outside the scope of FreeNAS, you'll probably get a response to your crossposted message on avforums.com.

Thank you. I should have posted there first. Meanwhile, I found a solution (in a very round-about, noobish way).
