Hello people,
I am new here so I first one to apologies if I break any rules or did something that does not follow the forum etiquette. I read the rules and would follow them to the best of my knowledge, if I make a mistake kindly correct me and I would be guided.

I just completed my first TrueNAS build. The information about the Build is in my signature.

I got an error alert about 2 the disk that make up my Z1 Pool. Interestingly, although the pool was marked as degraded, all the disk that make up the pool were still marked as online. I ran a scrub of the pool and it came out with 0 errors.

Going through previous post here I noticed people with similar issues were advised to run a smart test. I ran a long smartctl test on the 2 drives with the alert and below are the result.

I am not sure what to make of this. Drive 1 /dev/ada5 is less than 2 years old and has rarely seen usage.
Drive 2 /dev/ada5 are much older drives.

Insight and advise would be appreciated.

(maybe) good news...

In both cases, your errors are CRC, so it could just be that you have issues with cabling or backplane. Start by checking that, zpool clear on the pool and see if the errors come back or not with another scrub.

Thanks people. Cabling and Back-plane are my suspicion. I did notice the back-plane to be a bit loose and I would be ordering a new back-plane. Thanks so much guys.

I have ran a zpool clear and I would be reporting back if the issues comes up again.
