Navigation Aggravation!

I have been running Scale for five months on a test system. Seems to work well, and the virtualization works better than Core's. But, I still can't find my way around without a lot of searching and backtracking. I desperately need a guide to Scale for Core users. For instance, I discovered this morning that the mail.send job has been failing daily (relay not allowed). The email address is invalid, but where do I change it? I checked all the side panel entries and all the icon entries (why have both?), but cannot find where this invalid email address is hidden. Email addresses for the user accounts are correct. I can't find a system related email address. I have this kind of experience constantly with Scale. The guide does not really help (me). AARRGGGGHHHHH!

Well, for CORE, the "system" e-mail address is the root user's e-mail address. I always thought that was a janky way to do it.

On SCALE you set the address by clicking the "Alerts" icon on the top right toolbar:

Then you click the "settings" gear and select email.

Granted, that is a bit buried, I'll let our team know so we can see if there's anything to help make that more obvious :)

Yea, that old way was just weird... We tried to fix that in SCALE so its more of a generic "setting" not set by editing the root user in the UI :)

Checked that previously. Is OK. Still have an invalid email address buried somewhere. Have checked my one and only cron script. Not there either.

Odd, wonder where that could be coming from then... Do you have some users defined with that email address set?

Did you check under Alerts -> Configure -> Alert Services -> Email?

User account emails all OK. Alerts (icon) > Settings > Email is correct. Alerts (icon) > Settings (icon) > Alert Services > E-Mail has no email address (not the invalid address)??? "Alerts -> Configure -> Alert Services -> Email" does not exist.

So, my point about navigation aggravation seems to be well made.

We were both navigating to the same thing, but point taken. :P

That said, still concerned to find out where this invalid address is coming from. Was this an upgrade / import of your CORE system? Might be worth tossing us a ticket with your debug file so we can dig in and see if there is something stuck in your configuration database that perhaps we don't expose on the UI in SCALE...

Clean new install, but then imported a few weeks old Scale configuration. The original Scale install was clean and totally new. Often asked if Core configs could be imported to Scale, but was told not.

Ticket will be opened. I have no idea what to call it. I think the error message or log should highlight the source of the failed email, but not so (for me).
