it's more info on the server im looking for I want to get the cpu etc right to handle my requirements - server: Nas plex (for 4k ultra hd hdr with hevev hdcp 2.2 h.265 dolby atmos dtsx thx) to my htpc units as well as capable of acting as the dvr server n live tv streaming from tv tuner to each box). Say 1 4k stream, 2 1080 streams at once (video or live tv )

But based on your description of your client machines, there will be nothing transcoded, so it doesn't matter. Obviously if you are building a FreeNAS server, then you should go with XEON or i3 for ECC support. beyond that it doesnt really matter.
