Hi,
today i measured CIFS lan speed over integrated NIC and "external" NIC in my little server HP N54L - instaled FreeNAS v 9.2.1.5 x64 (16G/1333 ECC UNB, mirror 2x1,5T Samsung disks and jbod 1x2T green WD disk). For measuring i used free program "Lanspeedtest (lite)" from "Totusoft" (use Google).
About speed tests: tested write/read speed over CIFS for file 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 254MB, 512MB, 1024MB and 4048MB. In real time i write/read only one file, then measured speed in Mbps 3 times and average these values.
internal NIC: NC107i
"external NIC" in PCIe 16x: NC360T (dual Gb, but only one port connected)
PC from what i made tests: Windows 7 x32, 4G/1333, AMD 955 x4, stripe0 2x640 WD Blue, NIC Realtek RTL8168D/8111D
Between server and pc was connected NETGEAR Router WNR3500L. Used cable CAT5e.
Maybe these measurements can help someone.
