BUILD My first FreeNAS setup

-O means retail package, not bulk, as in, it comes in a box.

Anyway,

1XEONV5 = single core Xeon skylake
C236 = premium Xeon chipset
64GB DDR4 = ahuh
MATX = MicroATX

Today I was finally brave enough to order all components (x11 build). I can hardly wait to get my hands dirty :)

Most of the components arrived yesterday and so far the setup ran very smoothly. Currently memtest tickles the memory and I am still waiting for my SATA cables to arrive.



So far I am very happy with the setup. The setup without disks consumes ~35 W while executing memtest.

The chassis is awesome and even my wife likes the look and feel ;)
