I was just wondering if you have in the works or some how already have it to where you can setup multiple volumes of data and have all them available for the FTP service to access.

Thank you for any feedback

That makes no sense at all...
FTP is not a sharing protocol, its a transfer protocol based on user login (that can be anonymous)

I have setup this up in filezilla ftp server before and I am sure it can be done with proftp too, it is just the GUI seems to be restricting it. You can setup a ftp service to allow read and write access to multiple HDD essentially.

Please let me know if you don't understand anything else I can try and explain further

There's a workaround for what you want to do. What you want to do is, I assume, you want to be able to mount "/mnt/" instead of "/mnt/<disc name>". I myself do not know how to do this (setting explicitly that in the FTP setup results in an error), but I accidentally came across a workaround to it. Basically, you need to setup a new User (and a User Group if you want to have this accessible to multiple clients), lets call it User1 (for arguments sake, and to refer to disc 1). In the field for home directories you will put in something equivalent to "/mnt/Disc1", fill out the rest of the information, and press OK. Create a second user called User2, and this time put in the home directories field "/mnt/Disc2". Until FreeNAS allows you to "pool" all the discs (or select discs) into one FTP login, you will probably have to do the above method.

Legacy version of FreeNAS allows you to view all volumes in the /mnt directory using FTP. I just installed the latest release and found that to be missing. I am considering dropping back to the Legacy version until this is corrected. I need to access all my volumes from a single FTP login rather than having to go to the WebGUI and reconfigure the FTP path each time I want to change volumes.

David, I tried your workaround in 8.2.0 and it doesn't work. Still uses the defined in the FTP service configuration.

Perhaps you didn't do it correctly? This feature has multiple workarounds. Though it should be simple enough change for FN8 devs to allow FTP directory to be set to /mnt. Rather than necro posting why don't you create a new thread in the appropriate forum. That way more people will see it.

Followed your instructions exactly. User1 goes to /mnt/<disc 1>. User2 goes to /mnt/<disc 2>. etc etc. Didn't allow me to "pool" them together. Maybe I'll just created 12 users and assign each one their own volume and FTP 12 different times to access all the info.
