MTTQ App log shows connection from wrong address

I finally figured out how to use metallb to assign an address on my lan to a installation of MTTQ.
My Lan is address 192.168.18.0/24 with a gateway of .1 and a dns via my pihole at .253
I have MTTQ installed at 192.168.18.15 using metallb and it works like a champ. I can ping from my laptop at .113 and it responds to publish/subscribe just fine from my laptop.
One thing bothers me though. When looking at the MTTQ logs while doing a publish/subscribe MTTQ says that the connection is coming from/to .253. That is my DNS's IP.
Why?

So if I ping an address on the APP at 192.168.18.15 (where metalb assigned it) from a PC on my lan 192.16818.100 it pings just fine but on the APP it shows the ping coming from 192.168.18.253. Why?
