Moving to TrueNAS/Scale - VM with a Windows DC how to start it first?

I am planning to build a TrueNAS scale system.
Primarily used as a NAS, it should also host a VM containing a 2nd DC for my Windows Domain.

Typically, if a DC does not find another DC, it waits about 10-15 minutes before it starts serving as the only DC.
In my case I want to maker sure that a DC (ont necessary the one on TrueNAS) is available before other services start like SMB.
Is that possible?

Currently I always run into problems with my XigmaNAS after a reboot.

This will most likely be problematic on TrueNAS as well. Generally speaking, having circular dependencies like this (for instance, being joined to a domain that is partially hosted on the NAS) will be error prone. From our perspective, this is not a supported configuration (of course you are welcome to do whatever you want with your NAS).

I'm not sure this is doable on Type-1 hypervisors (the role TrueNAS is trying to play) in general.

Startup of the VMs can be delayed (e.g. on ESXi), but starting them before the hypervisor boots up (that would include services like SMB) would be backwards...
