I'm considering moving my disks to a new/more capable PC. The idea is to keep all data.

I was wondering on how to do it. I don't know Linux so excuse me the ignorance.

First idea (simplistic view)
Since the installation is done in a USB drive, just move to the new PC together with the disks and the boot process will recognize the hardware and everything will be working fine.

Second idea
Export the volume
Install Freenas on the new hardware
Move the disks and import the volume

Which approach is the right one ? If neither, what should I do to accomplish it ?
Tks

First idea *should* work but you might to export on old hardware and re-import your volumes on the new hardware. You shouldn't need to reinstall FreeNAS, but maybe reset to factory config and then use the Auto Import. Restoring settings when switching hardware seems to cause problems sometimes, so you might need to put them back in by hand.
