Moving networks

Hi everyone, I’m new to this I’m still figuring things out. But I am wondering if you move your true nas system to another network/house would you loose anything? Or do you just have to configure network interface? Does that cause any data loss?

So you would just reconfigure the network or would you still be able to reach the system at the same ip address.

Depends on the target network and if you use static vs DHCP. If you configured your routers with static DHCP properly, it'd move seamlessly without needing any configuration change. But the fact, that you are asking this tells me that you likely will need to at least modify some configuration.

Yeah, this is akin to asking "if I move to a different place and take my furniture along, can I place it the same way?"

Uhh, typically no? Maybe...?

It would help to understand the underlying thought process, because this a very unusual line of questioning.
