I have been using truenas for a few weeks now just fine. Recently, when I rebooted the system it would not come back online and when I checked the screen it is hung on mountroot> waiting for my input.

After looking around on these forums, it seems like my bootdrive may be corrupted. I am fine to reinstall truenas as I dont care about getting my user/settings back. They were very basic and I can redo them. However, I would like to recover all my data that I have on 2 hard drives in RAID 1.

My question is, can I simply reinstall and I will still have access to my data? are there any important steps I need to do to import the drives and keep the data? I am pretty new to TrueNAS so I dont know to much about the processses.

Thank you.

Your data is safe. After reinstallation, your data pool should automatically mount in the GUI. If not, you can click the blue Add button to mount an existing pool.
