Motherboard & CPU compatibility

So I'm looking to purchase a Supermicro X12STH-F and a Intel Xeon W-1370. I feel this may be a dumb question and something I should know. But the product description of the Supermicro specifically saying it's for the E-2300 processors is throwing me off. The socket type (LGA-1200) is all that matters right? I just am looking for a second opinion before I drop money on these.

Nope. The BIOS has to support a processor for it to work.

If a processor family isn't listed as supported, it isn't.
