Mixing WD4003FZEX & WD40EFRX in Raid Configuration

Hi All,

Could you please let me know if the following drives can be mixed and used for NAS in Raid Mirror configuration?
I have 2 pieces of WD RED 4TB and 2 pieces of WD BLACK 4 TB.
Please let me know the best configuration to use these. Thanks for your help.

Mixing and matching hard drive, while not recommended because it's been a taboo for hardware RAID for decades, isn't as big of a deal for ZFS as it is made out to be. ZFS just wants a place to store data and if your disks can store the data then it doesn't really care.

But I read somewhere within this forum itself that drives not compatible for RAID settings should not be used in RAID configuration and mixed with RAID supported drives. I am trying to scoop the threads to find that information.
Others, please throw some more light on this aspect.

If you can ensure appropriate cooling for the Blacks, it should be fine. They won't have TLER, but that doesn't matter too much.
