So I accidentally came accross the manual for 9.3.1 which had a section describing how to mirror the USB boot drive.. Having a USB stick that is still going strong after 3 years , I figured I'd mirror it before it hits the fan and I'd be in trouble.

The only problem is that I cannot find the way to do so. Following the instructions of 9.3.1 dont apply to 9.2.1.6 which is the version of Freenas I currently run.

For example, the manual says to go to "System ‣ Boot ‣ Status" which is not available in 9.2.1.6.. I tried to find the place where I'd see the boot drive, I couldnt find such place..

Was this feature added after 9.2.1.6?

That would explain why...

Then I need to upgrade to 9.3... Any major improvement deemed essential between 9.2.1 and 9.3.1? I am asking because I am now reluctant to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading.. How many times I've seen something working just fine being replaced by a bloated monster or just no longer reliable (think of firefox, or most pieces of software nowadays).

I'm no FreeNAS pro but you should always keep your OS updated for secruity reasons. I'm sure this also applies to FreeNAS.
