Microsoft AD requirement for Cluster

Hi,

Is there a way to use Samba 4 AD instead of Microsoft's for Cluster creation?
Will there be a way to create a "just gluster" cluster, or NFS of anything else?

I created a Gluster cluster before last SCALE update, and now it asks for smb/AD setup.
My old shares do not work because now I can't chmod in /cluster/<CLUSTER>/... probably because of smb.

Hopefully I can someway resume my old "only gluster" cluster?

Thank you.

The issue is that you need a way to keep SMB users / groups synced between nodes of your cluster for SMB shares. Right now that solution is to join an AD, but we are aware and looking at options for local user sync without an AD server. Stay tuned.

Thank you very much for the update, I'll try some SAMBA4 equivalent in the meanwhile.

I'd say that realeasing development steps so much different in requirements one from the other (much more if the proposed requirement is propietary) could be a bad behiviour, as we cannot properly plan out implementations, and planning (and communicating!) ahead the ipothetical final output could be a much proper way.

In a way, I'll take the chance to tinker and study AD ;)

Thank you again.
