Hello,

I have a brand new X9SRL-F with a E5 2670 processor that I cannot get to boot with more than 3 Crucial 16GB ECC Registered DIMMs. The mobo just sits at POST code B7. I know this memory is good as it works fine in several DL380 G6 servers I have.

I have opened a case with Supermicro but so far have not got anywhere. The board works fine with only 3 DIMMS, but the minute I add the 4th, it will not boot.

I filled all the slots with memory and she booted right up! Really weird and not too happy with SM documentation or tech support.

The motherboard manual will tell you what order you must fill the slots in. I suspect, when you didn't have every slot filled, you weren't following the proper order.

Absolutely 100% in the correct order. Read the manual about 100 times in the last 2 weeks.

Hmm, very strange. Did you look at the markings on the board to identify the DIMM sockets, or the manual? The drawings in the manual, in my experience, didn't always label the sockets correctly.

Both. I am still not convinced the board is 100%. I might just let them RMA it before I put this thing into Prod.

Yep, I would. If you've got questions now, you'll always doubt the board every time anything weird happens.
