Check in the BIOS settings for IPMI/BMC and see if you can determine what network settings it has been assigned (presumably via DHCP). Point a web browser at that address.

Awesome, i got the IP to it and clicked the preview thing and it gave me a remote thing to download and that works :)

Now to figure out how to update to the IT firmware. One step at a time :D

Now you can also point IPMI View at that IP address. I wouldn't worry too much though, I use IPMI more than anyone here and I almost never use IPMI View because the web interface is adequate for almost everything.

I may have f***** up. When i went to enter the last 9 digits of the sas adress when putting into IT mode it started doing weird special characters when i was typing and when i went to erase them it kept adding more characters showing up as "?" then i got the following error (PIC BELOW), and when i tried to do it again it failed. I have checked the control + c and the sas address has changed from what it was originally but i appear to be on the IT firmware. Should i be worried?

Sas address not programmed?

Hi i don't suppose you know why my 16gb SanDisk Cruzer Blade isn't showing up in the list of available drives when i click install on the freenas setup page? my 8gig SanDisk Cruzer Blade shows up under the install/upgrade and both show up in the bios. If it's a compatibility issue do you recommend any others as i'll run out and get another?

Got freenas installed on the new USB Stick. I have my 8 drives connected to the LSI controller, which connectors should i have my last 2 drives connected to on the intel PCH, 3gb/s or 6gb/s or does it not matter?

Can't seem to get the 2 white 6GB/s ports working without it showing an error. I've tried a new cable, swapping out the backplane. It does show 10 drives in the view discs option but the console has the below error.

It seems to work if i put the last 2 drives in the 3 gb/s ports? Do i need to change something for it to work. The last 2 drives are the new drives.

Will i be OK if use the 3gb/s ports if the other 8 are connected to the lsi controller (6gb/s)?

Edit: I've just tried it with normal sata cables and sata power to connect to ports 1 and 2 and there is no error and works fine... I've tried swapping out the backplane and backplane cable and still get the error. The problem can't be the backpane or the cable though if it works on the 3gb/s ?

I have removed the cable from the first white port and it works, so i think it's something to do with the first white port? but it works on normal sata / sata power?

edit 2: in the bios the port 0 drive doesn't show if its connected to any of my backplanes but it'll work if i connect normal sata power and sata cable?

Any idea what the problem can be and how to fix?

Bought a Define R5 so i'll need to sell my nocro 4020 but and it's at least showing all 10 drives now. i have my last 2 drives up in the optical bay area, dust may be a problem because i had to pop the 2 covers off to fit the drives but ill monitor it over time.

I still can't figure out how to get the remote view on the ipmi view but Is there anything i should be enabling / disabling in the bios before i go ahead and set my z2 volume up?

Go to the BIOS, look up the IP address assigned to the IPMI/BMC. Point your web browser at that IP address. Log in.
