Hi,

System:
FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201506292332
Mobo: Asus P9D-M (2 x Intel I210AT nic)
NIC: 2 x Intel I210AT, (Onboard)
NIC: Intel Quad port 1G NIC (PCIe)
CPU: E3-1230 v3
RAM: 32GB Kingston ECC

The PCIe NIC are igb 0 - 3
The onboard are igb 4 - 5

igb 0 - 3 used for iSCSI
igb 4 used for management

If I boot the system only igb 0 -3 come online (ifconfig only shows those interfaces)
If I unplug igb 4 + 5 and reboot, wait for the system to be fully booted and the plug in the interface, the every thing works and the system is rock stable. (runnig FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201503270027 since start april)

I have tested a different cable and a different switch port.
I have tried changing the port between AUTO and 1000FDx.
I have tried moving management to igb 5.
I have updated to the latest stable (FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201506292332).

It was the same issue on my initial install, FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201503270027, and it still have this issue after I updated to the latest version.

Any suggestions?

i had an issue that seems similar to this. i let the system get its initial ip address from dhcp, and then went in and configured the management ip from the gui. everytime i did, i lost the gui access. it would tell me it had web issues or couldnt load the page. its probably in the manual that you cant do this, or not the documented setup procedure. i was being stupid and didnt read the manual before i played with that.
i had to configure the management interface using the console menu, and then had no more issues. i was able to add and configure the rest of the interfaces without problem.

have you already tried configuring the interface from the menu on the console, and you are still having the mentioned problem?

yes I setup the mgt interface from the console.

Infact if I boot the system without the mgt nic connected, and then replug it. I do not need to reconfigure, it remembers its config.
