Hi guys,

is there any way to get MegaCli to work with a LSI SAS HBA?
I cant get it to list my HBAs :/

MegaCli -AdpAllinfo -aALL
Exit Code: 0x01

MegaCli -adpCount
Controller Count: 0.
Exit Code: 0x00

I have seen references that its only working with actual Raid Cards... any alternatives?

Thanks

Edit: I see there is a new binary storcli - anyone tried that on FreeNas yet?

MegaCLI only works with the LSI RAID controllers. You didn't mention what controller you have, but I'm guessing your controller doesn't work with the MegaCLI tool. To be honest, the few users that have found that the MegaCLI works also find that SMART doesn't work, the hard drives don't pass through the controller properly, etc. So I think you should be happy that the MegaCLI tool doesn't work as that would probably mean that your hardware shouldn't be used with FreeNAS. ;)

Lol, good point.
I am using Dell H310s flashed to IT mode (2008 chipset). I just thought i could play around with Locate but if there are not alternative tools i guess i will actually label the drives with their serial;)
