LSI HBA 9211-8i with FreeNAS

Hi,

I plan to get another dedicaded server from a Canadian provider (I live in Canada) and they have a server who I am interested to. But, this model of dedicaded server use the LSI HBA 9211-8i disk controller. I want to set it to JBOD, my provider saids they can do it for me if I need so. But will FreeNAS will recognise all the drives? There was 36 drives in this server.

Yes, sir, provided the server has the necessary backplane/expander. According to LSI, the 9211 can handle up to 256 devices:

You'll want to have version 16 of the IT (not IR) firmware flashed on the HBA.
