I remember, many years ago, building an array of 75 72GB drives that filled an entire rack, and being in total awe at 5TB.

I've had no issues with my 12g adapter and matching backplane.

Yeah, the truth is that it probably works just fine, but you'd still be a bit of a guinea pig. Collectively, there are probably a BILLION hours of problem-free service under the LSI 6Gbps driver, but quite possibly less than a million hours on the 12.

Supermicro has the latest LSI 3008 firmware on their FTP site that now matches up with the FreeNAS 9.10.xxxx driver. P12 firmware is currently correct for the V13 driver in FreeNAS 9.10.
