Did you check the two Seagate page links in the ada1 smart report? The second link has the detailed upgrade instructions, the first should tell you/confirm if SD1A is the latest.

Do you have ada2 AND ada12 with End-to-End "Failing Now"? Your first post had the Alert System pasting showing ada2, the smart tests you made had ada12 but not ada2.
Let me check the link. Only ada2, from other google search, some mentioned that 184 end to end sometime might be OK. I am thinking about taking both drives offline to be on a safe side especially ada1 error count is increasing. Currently I am migrating data out.
Thanks,

Thanks,

It is not OK, it means there's a problem with the cache memory on the disk controller and the disk should be replaced ASAP.

All data migrated to safe place. Can someone show me detail steps to remove failed disk/volumes from FreeNAS 9.10? Just wonder shut down system and take the HDD out will cause FreeNAS to complaint about the missing drives.

Many Thanks,

See the first page of the resource I linked to in the response I sent you earlier (the first one to your post in this string).

Thanks for the reminding. In my case, I want to remove not replace, then just click offline, is that the case? Many Thanks!

I think SD1A is the corrected version. The correction involved getting an ISO from Seagate, burning it to CD, and booting a PC with the problem disk attached. The DOS-based program would detect the drive and then update it. At the time, it was easy to get the ISO. Now, you would probably have to go through support or at least their online serial number checker.

If they offer iso firmware image, then I would create bootable usb and install from there. Thanks,

Is it possible to automatically run scheduled script on FreeNAS to generate smartctl test report say every week? Any detail? Thanks,
