Location of config file

Hi,

unfortunately my NAS is unable to boot from the usb drive, since last night.
Sure, there is a option available to save the config file out of the running system. But where the configuration file is located on the boot device, if the system is not booting up any more? Am I able to read it out after setting up an new usb device?

It's on the system dataset which should be on your storage pool. So you can do a fresh install, import the pool, then look in /var/db/configs-<some-long-hex-id>.

Absolute worst case you will have to recreate your config manually. But your data will most probably be fine. Which is the point of ZFS.
