New to Freenas here,

I got the opportunity to get a TP-Link Managed Switch, so thought I would try using Link Aggregation on my machine that has a Supermicro board (X11SSL-O) that has 2 Intel NICs.

So from the menu, I created my Link Aggregation and then rebooted the system. I'm now getting the following message...

freenas init: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/ttyv0, sleeping 30 secs
freenas init: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/ttyv0, sleeping 30 secs

Any idea what could be causing this to happen and what it means?

1. Link aggregation probably doesn't work the way you think it works. (Unless you have multiple clients who can exceed the capacity of a single link simultaneously, link aggregation will have no effect.)

2. Which version of FreeNAS are you using? A quick search shows a bug that could be related.

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks Matt,

I'm using the current version of FreeNAS (9.10).

Sounds like I just need to revert to my prior settings. Having Link aggregation wasn't a must, just trying to learn all I can and what the system can do.

Thanks again for the info.
