I have a rather larger RAW photo library in lightroom. As many of you may know the catalog must be on "local" storage (no mapped drives) but the actual files can be anywhere. I am looking at running 10gbe from my NAS up to my office and am trying to figure out the best way to set up Lightroom. I would love to share the catalog, smart previews etc.. between my laptop and desktop but have yet to find a smooth way of doing this.
Has anyone found a fast and seamless way of sharing a Lightroom catalog between two machines? I have considered iSCSI but I'm sure that would end badly. SMB is fine for the RAW images but cannot be used for the catalog... So I ask, how do you do it?
