LDAP not working.... where to start?

I'm very new to the FreeNAS community and pretty new to FreeBSD myself. I've been running pfsense for quite awhile with good success.

I joined FreeNAS to my test domain. That went well.

I'm trying to setup LDAP and its not working, but I'm not really getting any indication as to why.

Here are my LDAP settings

and here is the output for the console when i try to start the service.

Is there a log that LDAP uses that would report errors to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After some playing around I got it to import users, however the service doesnt stay running. Is it supposed to?

This is disconcerting. Now i dont know which combination of my settings i used is correct... or partly correct.
