Labels for containers

Is there a way to add labels (docker labels) to pods? In this case there is a minecraft container made that checks for other containers with a specific label and will use it to broadcast the minecraft servers on non-standard ports so they can be discovered on a lan and you can run a bunch of servers and they will be discoverable locally.
