Joining FreeNAS

Hi there...

My name is Johan and i'm living in Tilburg, Netherlands.
I'm using FreeNAS for two years, started with v9.3 and upgraded to 9.10 stable in the past.
I've never formaly joint as a member, but used this forum a lot to make things work.

I've a cheap system setup with old components just to have storage (without backup).
I'm planning to rebuild it to a real NAS with disks in raid for backup (foto's and cam's), films & music are not critical.
I'm seeking ballance between which type raid to use / €.

Now I've trouble with one usb thumb mirror boot drive (in-expensive choice in the past comparing to SSD), which now I'm changing to a SSD.
I've installed a printerserver for my HP deskjet scince WIFI-connection isn't stable, and running PLEX-mediaserver in jail's.

Now searching for info about migrating to 11-stable regarding problems with Jails.
Migrating to 11.2 should do the job at once, but is'nt released yet (only beta).
Also want to run a Virtual Machine (now i'm using VMware).

So.... officialy joining this forum to get some answers from some experts :)

RAID is not backup. What if a virus deletes all of your files, or it there is a flood?
