Jails randomly losing network connectivity

I'm using TrueNAS Core 12.0 U8. Starting about a month ago, and with increasing frequency, my three jails would lose all connectivity occasionally. I could ssh into them from the LAN, but I couldn't ping out from the jails at all -- neither to URLs (e.g. google.com) nor to IP addresses (e.g. 8.8.8.8).

When this happens, the only way I can get the jails network connectivity back is by rebooting the entire server.

Also, when this happens, my bhyve virtual machine continues to work perfectly well, with full connectivity, as does the server itself.

I don't know where to even begin to troubleshoot this.
