Jail internet access is enabled if you can ping to external address?

If I am logged in via shell through the jail, and can ping to an external address such as yahoo.com, then can I assume that internet access is configured properly for that jail?

Well, basically, yes. If you can resolve and ping a hostname, your jail has internet access
