I have/had a SD -> SATA Adapter as my jail drive - it disappeared from the BIOS
I could remove the ZFS single drive from volume manager but the mount points and the plugin installed in the Jail are still there - and I can delete them they error out as they don't have a Jail. (see link for error or contact me)
I've backed up the config and when I look at the back up it has the mount points in the back up so I'm assuming that if I did a reset/restore I'd have the same issue? I'm guess that the restore wouldn't sense check to see that the config was possible - i.e. the Jail actually exists
