Hello,

I have recently installed Freenas for my home vSphere Lab/Home file/media server. Here are my server specs:
Freenas 8.3.1
2x Opteron 1744HE
8GB RAM
IBM M1015 8 Port Raid (LSI 9240-8i)
8x 500GB HDD in a ZFS RAID10
Lenovo LSI 9240-8i
2x 128 Samsung 840 Pro as zil for the 8x 500GB RAID 10
1x 256 Samsung 840 Pro as L2ARC for the RAID 10
Intel SRCSASJV (LSI 8888ELP I believe)
5x 2TB HDD in a hardware RAID 5 for media

So, I installed Freenas and it worked with all the hardware no problem. I created the first extent/iscsi target etc. that was the RAID 10 and attached it to my vSphere 5.1 server no problem at all. The speeds are good etc. Now, I created another hardware extent and target direct to the RAID 5 for my media. vSphere will not detect it as a device at all. I then tried to attach it directly to my Server 2012 file server using the iscsi initiator and it saw and connected to the target, but it also will not see the extent. I tried several different portal and target settings and nothing works. I then attempted to create a ZFS pool on the array and then add that as a hardware extent and that had the same results. Now, am I doing something wrong here? Can I use the CLI to make this work? Is this just a bug? This is driving me insane! I also need to get this done ASAP as I am borrowing drives that s holding my 5TB worth of data so I could do this swing to a new server (used to be hosted direct to a Windows host) and they will be needing them back within a week. Argh.
