ISCSI + V Sphere very slow cloning

I have 4 ESX Hosts running on V Center and 2 FreeNAS 8 Severs running ISCSI. Performance is admirable for the most part but when I goto Clone a host to either of the FreeNAS Servers performance drops to sluggish speeds, I have one NIC on each ESX host devoted to communication with the NAS and they are a seperate network with GB Switches, this is a lab environment so Cloning is a must. I am not sure where to begin to look at why this is bottle necking.

this ended up being a hardware issue the raid battery had lost its charge and write back cache was not working properly, i replaced the battery and now FreeNAS is running great.
