Hey everyone

First please bear with me, I'm new to the whole iSCSI game, but I'm trying to learn.

This is what I have currently setup.
My server is running Proxmox VE, one of the VE's is FreeNAS 8.0.2. In order to share drives I can map with virtualized IDE or SCSI. What I would like to do (in my head it makes more sense) is have my Proxmox share my SATA drives via an iSCSI target and have FreeNAS be the iSCSI initiator.
The advantages I can see are virtual IDE and SCSI are slower, and have a limit of how many drives I can share.

First is it possible to use FreeNAS as the initiator? I have been trying with no luck for about 6 hours today.

Thanks
Eric

Edit:

I just tried using 'iscontrol -dt *host ip*' from the command line and I get '/dev/iscsi: No such file or directory'
