Hi everyone

I am running my ESXi cluster off of NFS shares from TrueNAS.

I would like to try iSCSI instead. I got to the point where the 1TB LUN I created is actually shown and ready to be selected for datastore creation, however ESXi will only give me a 512 GB datastore on the 1TB disk. It sees the dis as 1 TB in size though.

Also when I try to format, I get an error ": Failed to check device /dev/disks/naa.6589cfc000000ec525acfe014b197030:1 capable of ATS"

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Thank you.

Not at a full keyboard, but check the setting of your extent/target regarding "Hide physical block size" - this should be set, as ESXi only speaks 512b/4Kn and might be having an issue if ZFS is making the volblocksize visible (which I believe I've seen it do in the past)

Do you know off the top of your head whether the free version of TrueNAS, meaning the FreeNAS replacement, supports VAAI?
