Hello everyone.
Here is my current setup
I have been running this setup now for about 8 months and like it.
However, after 8 months of usage I only have 1.7 Tb of space taken up.
I do occasionally setup a vSphere iSCSI share for testing purposes but this still keeps me under 2.5 Tb of space used.
I want to redo my RAIDZ2 setup into 4x2Tb.
My main concern is having to setup the 4 jails I currently have (the data I can backup off server).
In this scenario I would have atleast 2 spares waiting in case something happened to my 4x2 RAIDZ2. Each drive has about 5300 hours on them and constantly 35c Temp (Max 80) (have never hit above 38c). A bit used after nearly a year
but a spares a spare :) .
please let me know your thoughts on this and what your plan of action would be.
sidenote: in case of a full rebuild - would doing an install of 9.3 be recommended or should I just stick to 9.2.1.8?
Here is my current setup
Code:
RAID Z2 6x2 Tb (WD Green) 7.1 Tb usable 1.7 Tb used Spindown alterations from Cyberjocks thread applied 4 plugin jails (might consolidate these into 1 single jail if I have to redo the entire RAIDZ2 setup) Build FreeNAS-9.2.1.8-RELEASE-x64 (e625626)
