Is Symlink on iscsi possible

I am only a month into working around true NAS 12. I have set up as a zvol for an iscsi drive I have formatted on my windows machine. I want to use this drive as a mirror of sorts for the NAS data. I have a cloud backup plan with unlimited data but only to internal drives or attached USB. How can I get symlinks into the iscsi drive so when the cloud backup program runs in windows it is actually backing up the file and not the link itself? Or am I just going to have to have a full size backup on the iscsi?
