Hi

Im new to the freenas community.
Today i run 14x 2tb disks in various raid setups with mdadm on ubuntu (ext4)
As of now im backing up all My data. Tomorrow im gonna reinstall ubuntu and setup freenas with kvm.

Is it whise to setup 2 vdevs with 7 disks in them, both in raidz2?

Core system:
Asus p8p67 deluxe
16g ddr3 (non ecc) ram (12 for virt-freenas)
Intel i5 2500K @~4Ghz
11x samsung f4 2Tb
3x wd Green earx 2tb

All disks can perform at maximum speed (all disks are visible without Any raidcards)

Best regards from Sweden!

Sry for crappy english ;)

Are you talking about virtualizing FreeNAS using Ubuntu+KVM?

As for multiple vdevs, there is nothing wrong with having a single pool containing multiple vdevs.
