Is it safe to remove a "Reserved space for this dataset" on datasests with existing data

When I initially set up my FN, in my ultimate wisdom I set all my datasets quotas and reserved space at the same value ( e.g. 2T ). Well as you can imagine this left me with no space to support other functions like snapshots.
Can I safely change these 'Reserved space.." values back to '0' (keep Quota tho) even though they contain a bunch of live data?
