I have assembled my new motherboard/cpu/memory in a test case. Everything boots with the latest FREENAS.

0. Backup all data.

1. Detach (export) my volume in the current system.

2. Remove old motherboard/cpu/memory from current system.

3. Install new motherboard/cpu/memory into current case with current hard disks.

4. Use current system USB stick.

5. Boot.

6. Import old volume.

Yeah, but you might as well update to 9.2.1.9 - but be aware that permissions will probably need to be redone, thanks to Samba 4.
