Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to wake on lan a freenas server from a windows computer and/or a tablett android.

I think i must activate the Wol on BIOS of the freenas.
I have seen that we can use a softwareon windows to send the wake up.
Is there an other thing to do ?

Is there some software for android tablett ?

Thanks to you.

Wake-on-LAN is actually hardware dependent, doesn't have to do with the operating system (in this case FreeNAS). As long as the motherboard and NIC of your computer which FreeNAS is installed upon support Wake-on-LAN and you have it enabled you can WOL that computer, and it will boot into whatever it normally boots into, be it Windows, MacOS, Linux, FreeNAS, etc.

That's not entirely true. Your OS has to send certain configuration info to the NIC that you want to enable it. It's a combination of your motherboard support, NIC support, your OS supporting it via the driver, and you properly configuring it.
