Ip Address changes

Hello everyone hope all is well, sorry if this is a silly question by is my IP address suppose to change every so often?

The reason I ask is because I always book mark my home server but when I try connecting I notice the IP address does not work,

So I check and the IP address I saved as a book mark changed

It is if you're acquiring it via DHCP and your DHCP server changes it.

Of course there is; you can (and generally should) set your NAS to use a static IP address. The docs will explain how; link is at the top of the page.
