Hi,

I managed to get truenas scale on the qnap but on the console there is this repeating error:
[230.230075] ixgbe 000:02:00.0: Warning firmware error detected FWSM: 0x00000000
[230.550101] ixgbe 000:02:00.1 Warning firmware error detected FWSM: 0x00000000
[231.862061] ixgbe 000:01:00.0: Warning firmware error detected FWSM: 0x00000000
[232.246078] ixgbe 000:01:00.1: Warning firmware error detected FWSM: 0x00000000

which makes the console useless.
Anyone got any ideas as to how to stop them?

From what I read it's not just a matter of suppressing the console messages. It's an indication the Intel kernel drivers need to be updated. Since TrueNAS is an appliance you will have to wait for iXsystems to incorporate the updated kernel drivers.

truenas scale ixgbe 000:02:00.0: Warning firmware error detected FWSM: 0x00000000

I suggest you submit a ticket, attach the debug log to the ticket.

You might try physically removing the 10G NIC expansion card(s) to isolate it, or use Tunables to disable the 10G NICs.

UPDATE: Looks like it's a known issue
