Hello
I have a Supermicro SuperStorage 6027R-E1R12N server with a Quadcore Processor, 16GB Ram and 12TB HDD and I intend to use it as a SAN by installing FreeNAS on it.
I will like to use OnApp cloud to manage our internal/public cloud. As time goes on, I intend to add additional servers/storage to this.
As part of my configuration, I will be using OnApp with VMware hypervisors and will need to present iSCSI LUNS from FreeNAS to my hypervisors.
In the past I have had issues maintaining this configuration with Openfiler as the Openfiler SAN could no longer present an iSCSI LUN to ESXi after a power outage.
Will FreeNAS have this issue?
Is it recommended to use SuperMicro's LSI MegaRAID Software Configuration Utility or does FreeNAS have a software RAID?
What are my options for commercial support in this case?
