Hello,

I am trying to upgrade an existing install of FreeNAS 9.3 to a USB mirror. I cannot do this upgrade via the GUI because the system became unbootable with a checksum failure error thus my attempt to upgrade via USB installer.

The error I am getting now I think it is telling me that my da2 drive is toast but am not sure. Error below:

Is it safe to shutdown the machine at this point?
Should I remove the da2 drive and attempt to repair/install to a single USB stick?

Any and all help appreciated.

Ok,

FreeNAS: version 9.3
Installation drive: Mushkin Enhanced atom 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDAM32GB
Motherboard: ASUS H87i
CPU: Intel i5 4650
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL10D

I have gotten around the above issue and performed upgrade to a single USB flash drive. I now face an issue with after system completes boot of
" No configured interfaces were found. Try to do it manually."

I tried a manual configuration but must be doing something wrong as afterwards I get the same message.

Can someone provide more details on this beyond the example shown in the documentation?

Well, I deleted the existing interface and got rid of the message and now have IP address assigned. Looks like I am back in the game!
