Install FreeNas on Hp Proliant DL380 G7

Hi Guys i'm new in FreeNas technology
please can you tell me how can i install FreeNas in my old server Hp ProLiant DL380 G7?
i have used before this server with OS win server 2008 and the raid 5
is doable to install FreeNas on this old hardware?

How much RAM? Does the RAID card support JBOD mode?

8Gb Ram and Raid card has no JBOD Mode

You'll want to replace the hardware card first. If the system takes more RAM, bump it up as 8 is the minimum.

I'm using a DL380G6 and the G7 is not so different.
The onboard controller can not be used with FreeNAS, so you'll need an extra card flashed in IT mode.
The advantage is that you can put a lot of RAM (especially when used with 2 CPU) and it's rather cheap (DDR3).

But otherwise, FreeNAS runs quite good on this machine.
