Which version of FreeNAS? You have verified that the info in the DDNS screen is correct and complete for the DDNS service you are using?

FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201502271818

Had similar error. Sometimes the service refused to start at all.

After...
- removing the wildcard-option from my domain-name on dyndns
- leaving "IP SERVER" -field blank
- restarting the dns service on my FreeNAS
... the service starts and communicates with checkip.dyndns.org OK.

Dunno what was the initial problem.

Hi,

I had this problem (DynDNS not actualised by afraid) also just after updating to 9.3 stable (from 9.2...).
I found this thread, followed the bug tracking and, as reported, and I edited the rc.conf following instructions (I added the line etc/rc.conf/ and add inadyn-mt_enable="YES").
Unfortunately it seems not to work for me, as the DynDNS is still not actualised (Since, I lost the IP of my NAS :D ), and Root-Freenas send me an email notification (like 4 times a day) saying:
/etc/rc.conf: inadyn-mt_enable=YES: not found

Any guess/help would be very much welcomed
